WTF Am I Doing Here?
Finally, I am ready to walk toward unfamiliar territory and exercise faith.
For so many years, I have attempted to live up to the conditioning and labels of what I thought a good woman [insert here: daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, employee, etc.] should be in this life.
The truth is… NONE OF THE LABELS MATTER.
After a decade’s journey of investigation about my soul’s mission and purpose, I have arrived at a place of authenticity.
The level of self-awareness and honesty in which I find myself at this point is so new, and uncomfortable, but I know that this is correct for me, in this moment.
I am no longer able to conform.
Energetically, I can feel that there are other people who are searching for a new way of living.
One of the main ways in which I am practicing defiance of the status quo is through consumerism.
With months and years of assessing my shopaholic behavior, this is the easiest way I can begin to transform.
And no, I am not becoming a radical “minimalist” to turn my home into a trendy, grey-iege, instagram-type snooze.
Instead, I am examining the items I invest in, the experience I select, the tools I leverage in my life, and sharing details about what actually enhances my journey.
As a 9-to-5 employee, with a small business on the side, and a non-profit organization, with also an investment property, and the leading lady of a family of 5, I am not interested in sharing for the purpose of bragging.
I AM NOT INTERESTED IN SENDING YOU A LINK TO BUY SHIT YOU PROBABLY DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE.
What I can tell you are the positives that bring joy, inspiration, and maybe share some of the crap that is also not worth your money or time.
Love it, or hate it, truthfulness is hard to find in our world. In this little corner of the internet that I own, that is rule numero uno.
Buckle up buttercup - we’re about to get real!
